ABOUT MARIA

Since learning to knit at the age of twelve, María has never stopped making clothes and accesories.

As an adult, she is fascinated by the role these objects play in our cultural context. From the source materials, construction techniques and craft, through to the functional quality of the finished product.

Most of her experience has been in the fashion industry, but has also worked on interiors, furniture, graphic design and prop styling.

2011 - Graduated from London College of Fashion - Product Design and Development: Cordwainers Accessories

2016 - Returned to Mexico after living and working in London for over a decade.

2020 - Received grant from the program Jóvenes Creadores to develop her own research and design project.

2025 - Opened her studio Aguxa, a space to teach how to knit and/or sew your own clothes
